World bank to corporate in Building up SL’s Economy…

The World Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to helping Sri Lanka restore development, provide social protection, and stabilize the economy. 

This was communicated by the World Bank’s Managing Director of Operations, Anna Bjerde, to State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe on Tuesday during a meeting in the US (April 11). 

The World Bank representative and Semasinghe talked about how Sri Lanka’s reform strategy would support economic recovery during their conversation. 

The state minister is in Washington, DC, for the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Spring Meetings. 

Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, and Mahinda Siriwardana, secretary of the Treasury, are also present at the sessions.
