UN on the watch….

The claims of arbitrary arrests and detentions of anti-government protesters, unionists, Tamils, and Muslims without the bare minimum of legal protections have alarmed the United Nations Human Rights Committee.
The committee said it is especially worried about the arbitrary arrests and detention of Muslim women for donning a niqab in a statement after reviewing the States parties in its most recent session and revealing its conclusions on six nations, including Egypt, Panama, Peru, Sri Lanka, Turkmenistan, and Zambia.
The key issues and suggestions for improving the application of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights are included in the findings, along with some encouraging things.
