The Green Finance Committee will create a 2023 climate funding road map…

It has been planned to publish a thorough roadmap in 2023 in order to generate money for green finance projects. The creation of a green finance committee has been ordered by President Ranil Wickremesinghe. Ruwan Wijewardena, Special Advisor to the President on Climate Change, will serve as the committee’s chair.

Wijewardena presided over a first discussion that took place yesterday (17) in the Presidential Secretariat.

Using financial resources to address climate change issues and make the transition to a low-carbon economy is known as “green finance.”

The Roadmap on Green Finance seeks to bring together several ongoing initiatives, such as green finance, green bonds, climate financing, etc., into a single platform with a defined scope, measurements, and goals. These topics received a lot of attention during the conversation.

The conversation was attended by a number of authorities, including Senior Additional Secretary to the President Chandani Wijewardene, Additional Secretary Vernon Perera, and others.
