The 51st memorial service for Former MP Philip Gunawardena…..

Under the auspices of President Ranil Wickremesinghe, the 51st memorial service for politician and former minister Philip Gunawardena was held yesterday (29), at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Center in Colombo. 

At the Philip Gunawardena Memorial Ceremony, President Ranil Wickremesinghe was greeted by Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and led into the main hall. 

Professor Jayantha Lal Ratnasekara, vice chancellor of Uva Wellassa University, and Dr. Sinharaja Tammitta Delgoda, a historian, scholar, and recipient of an international film award, both gave opening remarks at the remembrance event. 

A song honoring Mr. Philip Gunawardena was also published at the event, along with a short documentary about his life.
