Tennakoon’s suit dismissed…..

A writ suit alleging Senior DIG in command of the Western Province Deshabandu Tennakoon of assaulting protesters near Galle Face during the “Gota Go Gama” protests was dismissed by the Court of Appeal today (March 27), according to a report by Ada Derana. 

As a result, when the pertinent case was heard by the Appeals Court judge bench comprised of Justice A. Marikkar and Court of Appeal President Nissanka Bandula Karunaratne, the appeal was ordered to be rejected with costs. 

The Attorney General was to be given an order asking him to detain SDIG Deshabandu Tennakoon as a suspect in the incident of attacking the “Gota Go Gama” protest site, record statements, and appear after the petition was filed.
