Sri Lanka no Longer Bankrupt…..

President Ranil Wickremesinghe stressed that Sri Lanka is no longer regarded as bankrupt by the international community in a special statement following the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMFapproval )’s of the extended credit facility.

The lending facility, according to Wickremesinghe, is a guarantee from the international community that Sri Lanka has the ability to restructure its debt and restore regular business operations.

He also mentioned that as the foreign exchange situation improves, the government is trying to gradually ease import restrictions on necessities, pharmaceuticals, and tourism-related goods.
