Special Media conference from the power and energy……

According to Kanchana Wijesekera, minister of power and energy, more than 20 Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) employees who failed to show for work today (March 29) have been given a mandated leave of absence. 

The Minister said at a special news conference held this morning at the Ministry’s offices in Colombo that more than 20 CPC workers who failed to report to work today had been sent on mandated leave and were no longer permitted to enter CPC property. 

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) labor union collectives held a Satyagraha on the morning of March 27, creating a somewhat tumultuous backdrop for the meeting.
