President’s Media Division Brushes off claims for Independence day Expenses stated in Social Media…

The Presidential Secretariat has denied “fake news” on the costs of the state ceremony held in honor of the nation’s 75th Independence Day that was being spread on social media.

The President’s Media Division (PMD) brushed off the claims in a news release, emphasizing that “the distribution of misinformation is simply another extension of the narrow political agenda that led many to skip the official state celebration of independence owing to the economic crisis.”

According to the PMD, the aim of disseminating such false material is to deceive the public, incite them to oppose the government, and sow discord in order to serve “petty political goals.”

The PMD further claimed that efforts have been made to persuade the populace that it was a mistake to even provide mobile restrooms during the Independence Day program.
