SL Navy to assist Maritime rescue Coordination centre…..

On March 2, 2023, the Sri Lanka Navy assisted the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) Colombo in bringing a non-motorized pleasure ship in need of help ashore.
The New Zealand-owned pleasure boat “Little Donkey” encountered a rowing system flaw while doing maritime research. As a result, the vessel and her two foreign crew members were safely towed to the Port of Hambantota to have the problem fixed.
When reacting to maritime distresses experienced by Sri Lanka’s navy and fishing communities in the Search and Rescue Region (SRR), MRCC Colombo, a facility created at the Naval Headquarters, is constantly on the lookout and organizes actions.
