Six necessary food items will have their prices reduced starting today, according to Lanka Sathosa (Feb. 16).

The following are the food items and the updated prices:

375 rupees for 1 kilogram of potatoes (reduced by Rs. 20)

Rs. 149 for 1 kilogram of large onions (reduced by Rs. 10)

Rs. 198 buys 1 kilogram of imported Samba rice (reduced by Rs. 7)

Rs. 358 for 1 kilogram of red lentils (reduced by Rs. 7)

Local red raw rice 1 kilogram costs Rs. 164. (reduced by Rs. 5)

Rs. 179 for 1 kilogram of imported raw rice (reduced by Rs. 5)
