Sanath Nandasiri passed away….

According to family reports, 81-year-old seasoned vocalist and musician Professor Sangeeth Nipun Sanath Nandasiri has gone away. 

Nandasiri, one of the most well-known vocalists in Sri Lankan music, is also a music director and composer. During the course of a career spanning more than six decades, he has won numerous honors for his works. 

He also served as the Chancellor of the University of the Visual and Performing Arts in Sri Lanka. 

In addition to singing the playback tracks for more than 30 well-known Sinhala films, including Ahas Gauwa, Duleeka, Sihina Lowak, Pembara Madhu, and Senasuma, Nandasiri made his debut on Sinhala Radio at the age of 13 in 1955. 

Over the course of a career spanning more than six decades, Sanath Nandasiri has won a number of awards for his compositions.
