Railways engine drivers to a strike…

According to Mr. U.K. Konthasinghe, the union secretary for the Sri Lanka Railways Engine Drivers, the union has decided to end their strike.

He added that after speaking with the appropriate authorities about their demands, the trade union action was suspended.

Today (Feb. 13), a number of scheduled trains were canceled as a result of the union representing engine drivers going on strike.

As a result, a number of train trips, including office trains, were canceled this morning. Additionally, it was revealed that the fast train that ran from Mahao to Moratuwa and Colombo on the main railway line had also been canceled.
