Pope Francis hospitalised due to breathing issues…..

The 86-year-old Pope Francis spent the evening in a hospital in Rome, where he will continue getting care for what the Vatican has described as a respiratory ailment on Thursday. 

A later statement from the spokesman disclosed Pope Francis had previously complained of “breathing difficulties” and had been hospitalized to Rome’s Gemelli hospital on Wednesday for previously arranged tests. 

Testing revealed a non-Covid-19 respiratory infection that called for “a few days of necessary hospital medical treatment,” according to Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni. 

The pope’s appointments for Thursday morning have been canceled, a Vatican source informed AFP. 

A few weeks after marking a decade as head, Francis’ admission led a few dozen journalists to set up camp outside the hospital on Wednesday night.
