Norochcholar power plant down….

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has advised that Unit 3 of the Norochcholai power plant is inoperative due to a breakdown, Power & Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera says.

He claimed that a significant refurbishment and maintenance procedure for the third generating unit was planned for April.

The minister announced on Twitter that until Unit 3 of the Norochcholai power plant is reconnected to the national grid, the CEB-owned diesel and fuel oil power plants will be used to provide an uninterrupted supply of electricity.
