New legal activities in port city to be overseen by young judiciars…

Young attorneys have been instructed by President Ranil Wickremesinghe to focus on offshore economy legislation and form a committee to oversee new legal initiatives in the Port City.

Following the growth of the Colombo Port City as a financial hub, the Head of State proposed the formation of a committee of lawyers focusing on offshore economy law during his address to the Royal College Lawyers’ Association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), which was held at the Blue Ballroom of the Hilton Hotel Colombo yesterday (25 Feb.).

Wickremesinghe emphasized the value of taking on responsibilities and leadership roles and urged young attorneys to make a head start on the legal areas related to turning the Port City into a financial hub.
