Nekath Seettuwa presented….

According to customs and traditions, Minister Vidura Wickremanayake and the Department of Cultural Affairs recently sent President Ranil Wickremesinghe the “Nekath Seettuwa,” a table of auspicious hours for the upcoming Sinhala and Tamil New Year. 

The “Nekath Seettuwa” includes the auspicious occasions related to the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, including the dawn of the New Year, the Punya Kalaya for religious observances, the lighting of the hearth, cooking the first meal, serving the first meal, anointing oil, and departing for work.
