Today, President Ranil Wickremesinghe vowed to put the nation’s economic recovery first while also upholding law and order to avert anarchy.
Before the end of the year, he pledged to revive the nation’s economy and establish a functioning democratic society.
The President spoke this morning (Feb. 18) at the ‘Imagine’ 32nd Rotary District Conference in Colombo and underlined the significance of economic recovery and raising citizen quality of life. He said that these principles will serve as the foundation for all government actions.President Wickremesinghe said in his speech that maintaining public order, which calls for law and order, is essential to democracy. He emphasized that democracy would give way to anarchy without these crucial elements. He told the crowd that he would make every effort to avoid such a situation.
The Rotary District 3220 received praise from the President for its crucial aid during previous disasters, including the polio campaign, tsunami, and medical shortages.
