More eggs to fly in …….

Last night (April 4), a new shipment of eggs from India arrived in Sri Lanka, according to the State Trade Corporation (STC).

Asiri Walisundara, the head of the STC, claims that Sri Lanka has so far imported a total of 4 million eggs.

The island received its eagerly anticipated initial supply of 2 million imported eggs on March 23, and a second consignment of 1 million eggs arrived four days ago.

The Animal Production & Health Department has not yet approved the second shipment.

Walisundara added that samples from the third egg shipment, which arrived on the island last night, will be sent to the labs for testing later today.
