LG Polls postponed….

According to sources within the Election Commission, a further delay of the 2023 Local Government (LG) election is likely. 

The District Returning Officers for the LG bodies of each district already declared that the LG election would take place on March 9 in a special gazette notification dated January 30, 2023. 

The administration maintained that polls cannot be funded with the ongoing economic crisis, so the LG election was ultimately postponed. 

The LG election was finally rescheduled for April 25 after being continuously postponed; nevertheless, it is reported that the polling will also be delayed this time, as the designated date is still more than a month away.
