Key thing is to break these existing monopolies….

Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, the state’s minister of finance, has stated that the reform of public institutions does not entail their sale.
Siyambalapitiya highlighted to the media in Kegalle that limiting these state-owned businesses will enable the elimination of monopolies, ultimately resulting in the provision of more effective services to the general people.
He said, “The key thing is to break these existing monopolies, and to provide the public the profit obtained through the competition established within the market. He also added that the government will be able to collect a considerable amount of tax income from these new enterprises being introduced.
The State Minister promised, “We can prove to the people that reforming these public institutions is, in fact, beneficial.
