IMF loan Arrangement to be set…….

A three-day parliamentary debate on the newly authorized International Monetary Fund (IMF) loan arrangement has been set by the political party leaders.

As a result, the Extended Fund Facility (EFF), which is endorsed by the IMF, will be discussed in the parliament from April 26 through 28. 

The choice was made during the political party leaders’ meeting that was held today morning (April 20) in the parliament complex.

Ajith Rajapakse, the deputy speaker of the house, presided over the meeting.

Parliamentary sessions will be held from April 25–28 following the Sinhala and Tamil New Year festivities.

The IMF Executive Board approved a 48-month extended agreement for Sri Lanka under the EFF program on March 20, 2023, for SDR 2.286 billion (about USD 3 billion)
