Government expand fuel distribution……

President Ranil Wickremesinghe stated that the administration has made a principled decision to extend the distribution of petroleum, and that it is anticipated to start soon during a discussion with the Sinopec Group representatives held at the Presidential Secretariat this morning (March 13).

To meet Sri Lanka’s energy needs, the Sinopec Group representatives reaffirmed their willingness to make investments in the importation, storage, distribution, and marketing of petroleum.

The officials notified the Sri Lankan government that their company had submitted an application in accordance with the rules and regulations already in place. They also expressed their willingness to fully finance the development of a refinery in Hambantota, which the government has designated as a key energy hub.
