Four Young perps detained inregardance of assault…..

Four young people have been detained by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in connection with the recent assault on first-year students at Sabaragamuwa University. 

According to the police, a group of first-year students were attacked on February 15 after the jailed youngsters, who were members of an illegal assembly, forced their way into one of the university’s dormitories. 

The suspects, who ranged in age from 23 to 25, were detained on March 28 by CID officials and afterwards delivered to the Balangoda police station for further investigation. 

Their residences in the Dehiwala, Moratuwa, Ambalangoda, and Welimada regions were established. 

Yesterday, after being presented before the Balangoda Magistrate’s Court, the arrested individuals were freed on surety bail.
