After becoming one of the first 20 nations to restart organizing outbound group tourists from China following COVID-19, Sri Lanka is about to welcome its first group of post-pandemic Chinese visitors.

On March 3, their flight will leave Shanghai Pudong International Airport.

Anura Fernando, the Sri Lankan consul general in Shanghai, stated in an interview with China Daily that the country is eager to welcome more Chinese tourists. “We are expecting Chinese tourists to come back soon, but their particular interest has been to countries closer to China,” Anura Fernando said.
