Eggs to rise in price….

According to Ajith Gunasekara, president of the All Ceylon Poultry Companies Association, the price increase of chicken and eggs during the upcoming holiday season cannot be avoided. 

He said that due to the challenges in supplying enough chicken to meet demand, the price of chicken could rise up to a range of Rs. 1,200 to Rs. 1,400. 

At a news conference in Colombo, Mr. Gunasekara stated that the absence of a robust trading network makes it impossible to control price swings.
