Eggs to land from India…..

The State Trade (General) Corporation reports that tomorrow, March 19, Sri Lanka will receive its first shipment of eggs imported from India.
Over two million eggs will be included in the shipment, according to a company representative.
In an effort to reduce the skyrocketing egg costs and address the shortage of eggs on the local market, the Sri Lankan government opted to import eggs.
Imported eggs won’t be offered for sale in supermarkets for general consumption though.
In order to prevent bird flu from entering and spreading throughout the nation, it was determined that these eggs would be sold to food makers for no more than Rs. 40.
