Delays in train because of protests….

Today (March 25), a protest was conducted by a group of locals at the Swiss Village in Batticaloa, obstructing the rails, causing delays in train operation on the Colombo-Batticaloa line.

The demonstrators claimed that the railway track repairs had blocked the village’s entrance.

The protest was eventually abandoned, though, after ballasts were placed on the railroad tracks.

The demonstrators delayed a train traveling from Colombo to Batticaloa for over two hours.
