The two CT scan machines at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital aren’t working properly, which is seriously annoying the patients.

The circumstance had put the hospital employees and administration in a difficult position, according to Chathura Welivitiya, deputy chairman of the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital Committee.

Every day, more than 5,000 patients seek medical attention at Karapitiya Teaching Hospital.

Ten patients a day are referred for a CT scan, and as a result of two devices failing, patients were forced to seek the services of private hospitals.

The Karapitiya Teaching Hospital Committee stated that patients at private hospitals must pay a hefty fee for the scan.
