Court gives permission to record Diana…..

The court has given the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) instructions to record and submit statements from the Controller General of Immigration & Emigration and the Commissioner General of the Department for Registration of Persons regarding particular matters relating to State Minister Diana Gamage’s citizenship.

 

This decision was made today (March 23) by Colombo Chief Magistrate Prasanna Alwis after considering the data supplied by the CID and the legal counsel for the party who was affected.

 

The Chief Magistrate added that after listening to the recorded statements, he would decide whether to allow the attorney for the party who was mistreated in their request for a court order for the arrest of State Minister Diana Gamage.
