CID to track a soldier with a stolen T-65…..

The Criminal Investigation Department’s (CID) Homicide and Organized Crime Control Section has launched an investigation to uncover a Sri Lankan Army soldier who is suspected of stealing a T-65 rifle from the Panagoda Army Base.

Investigations have shown that the soldier arrived at a temple in the Godagama area with the gun, which he had purportedly stolen along with three magazines and a cache of 90 rounds.

As a result, the aforementioned soldier had requested the Chief Priest of the aforementioned temple, who was also a close friend of his, for a bag in which he could conceal his weapon before later fleeing the temple.
