China declares victory after a 3 year war against covid…

The world’s lowest fatality rate was claimed by China’s senior officials, who also hailed a “decisive victory” over COVID-19. But, experts have questioned Beijing’s figures as the coronovirus ravaged the nation after being largely contained for three years.
According to a well-known government scientist, China abruptly abandoned its zero-COVID policy in early December after 80% of its 1.4 billion people become sick.
Even though there were numerous stories of crowded hospital wards and morgues, China only documented roughly 80,000 COVID hospital deaths in the two months following the removal of its limitations.
Several analysts contend that the true death toll was far greater because many patients pass away at home and because doctors were reportedly discouraged from listing COVID as a cause of death.
China’s Politburo Standing Committee (PSC) stated in a meeting on Thursday that “with ongoing efforts to optimize COVID-19 prevention and control measures from November 2022, China’s COVID-19 response has made a smooth transition in a relatively short time.”
