Cardinal files a Petition….

The Court of Appeal has set hearing dates for a writ petition filed by Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith, the Archbishop of Colombo, asking that a directive be issued to the Attorney General directing him to carry out the findings and recommendations of the Presidential Commission on Inquiry established to look into the Easter Sunday attacks. 

When the writ petition was discussed today by the Appeals Court judge bench made up of Justices Dhammika Ganepola and Sobhitha Rajakaruna, the decision was made (March 27). 

The court has also mandated that the pertinent parties submit pertinent paperwork.
