Arjuna Ranathunga to quit……

Arjuna Ranatunga, a former national cricket captain and former member of parliament, was notified in writing on March 29 by the senior advisor to the sports minister Sudath Chandrasekara to immediately resign from his position as chairman of the National Sports Council.

Even though the National Sports Council was supposed to hold a virtual meeting yesterday evening, according to reports, none of the council members showed up.

In his letter to Arjuna Ranatunga, Sudath Chandrasekara further said that since the council members no longer recognize him as the National Sports Council Chairman, Arjuna Ranatunga shouldn’t be shocked by their decision.
