Appeal for Wasantha Mudalige…

The Inter-University Students’ Federation (IUSF) convenor Wasantha Mudalige was released on April 3, and the Attorney General appealed this decision. The Colombo High Court has mandated that this appeal be recalled. 

The Colombo High Court had heard the appeal today (March 27). 

However, the High Court Registrar has advised that the case would be recalled on April 3 as the High Court Judge is now on vacation. 

Wasantha Mudalige, the plaintiff in the case, had also appeared before the courts today. 

Wasantha Mudalige had been imprisoned under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA), and the Colombo Chief Magistrate had earlier ordered his release, citing a lack of adequate evidence to continue the case’s hearing.
