AL’s to be a curriculum…

According to Susil Premajayantha, minister of education, the school curricula for all grades, from Grades 6 through 13, would be changed starting in 2019.

Minister Premajayantha noted that the Cabinet clearance for the policy on the digitalisation of education is anticipated to be acquired within two weeks while attending an event in Colombo.

The Minister also stated that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be added to the curriculum in schools by the Ministry of Education.

“After revamping the curriculum from Grade 6 through Grade 13, we, the Ministry of Education, want to introduce AI. It may occasionally be presented as a “basket subject,” similar to the ICT (Information Communication Technology) that is currently dominant.
