A special traffic procedure at Kandy….

Due to the “Janaraja Perahera,” which is being held in Kandy tomorrow (Feb. 19) to commemorate Sri Lanka’s 75th anniversary of independence, a special traffic arrangement will be in place.
This traffic plan will be put into effect starting at 5:00 p.m. tomorrow and lasting until the end of the procession, diverting traffic from Dalada Street, Yatinuwara Street, Raja Street, and Kanda Street.
In order to minimize any disruptions, drivers are urged to choose alternate routes during this time.
The “Janaraja Perahara” will be held in the revered Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy after a 34-year hiatus.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe will preside over the inauguration of the parade, which was planned to coincide with the 75th anniversary of Sri Lanka’s independence.
Tomorrow at 6:30 p.m., the procession is scheduled to leave the Magul Maduwa premises and proceed via Dalada Street, Yatinuvara Street, Kanda Street, and Raja Street before ending at the temple.
