40 Ceypetco filling stations stopped…..

As a result of the 26 filling stations’ persistent failure to comply with the fuel quotas set forth by the QR code system, Lanka IOC, a subsidiary of Indian Oil Company in Sri Lanka, has discontinued fuel deliveries to certain locations.

In the meantime, 40 CEYPETCO filling stations’ licenses were stopped for the same reason as a result of a decision made at a meeting to examine the progress, which was presided over by Power & Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera.

The meeting in question was held on Thursday, and attendees included representatives of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Ltd. (CPSTL) (April 06).

In the meantime, the current gasoline allocation under the QR code system was increased with effect starting at 0:00 UTC on April 4 in anticipation of the impending Tamil and Sinhala New Year holiday season.
