20 trains only allocated for today….

The general manager of railways, W.A.D.S. Gunasinghe, stated that 20 trains total were operating by 8 o’clock this morning (March 15) for the comfort of commuters despite the ongoing multisectoral trade union strike.
To lessen the hardship to the passengers, 13 commuter trains were planned to operate as usual today morning, however the railway agency reported early this morning that only ten commuter trains were in service this morning.
Wednesday morning (March 15), 13 trains were scheduled to arrive at Colombo Fort Railway Station from Avissawella, Chilaw, Rambukkana, Ganewatte, Maho, Kandy, Beliatta, Galle, Aluthgama, and Kalutara South, according to a news statement from the President’s Media Office.
